Three candidates recommended for Australian Wool Innovation board, replacing two outgoing directors.
Three candidates—Dr Michelle Humphries, Chris Mirams, and Anthony Uren—have been recommended for election to the Australian Wool Innovation board, with AWI endorsing their selection.
They are replacing retiring directors Jock Laurie and Emma Weston, in line with the organization’s policy of rotating one-third of the board annually.
Mirams, a former executive chair of Sheep Producers Australia, was chosen for his governance and industry expertise.
Dr Humphries, a veterinarian and Merino breeder, seeks re-election due to her work on AWI’s R&D committee.
Uren, with over 30 years managing large wool operations, brings commercial and leadership experience.
Two other candidates, Paul Swan and Drew Chapman, are also running.
Paper and online ballots were distributed on October 6, 2025, ahead of the annual general meeting on November 14 in Sydney and online.
