Patriots RB Antonio Gibson exited vs. Bills with a right knee injury on a kickoff return.
New England Patriots running back Antonio Gibson exited Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a right knee injury on a kickoff return in the second quarter. The injury occurred just before a collision with Bills defender Cam Lewis, causing Gibson to fumble, which was recovered by teammate TreVeyon Henderson. Gibson, 27, was ruled out for the remainder of the game and left the field visibly emotional. Prior to the injury, he had 21 yards on six carries and one reception for 5 yards, with a 24.5-yard average on two kickoff returns. Through five games this season, he had 106 rushing yards on 25 carries. He is in his second season with the Patriots after four with Washington. The team has not released a timeline for his return.
