ParkerVision won permission to appeal a patent ruling that found its receiver tech didn’t infringe Qualcomm’s patents.
ParkerVision, Inc. announced on October 2, 2025, that a U.S. District Court granted its Rule 54(b) motion, allowing immediate appeal of a May 29, 2025, claim construction ruling in its patent dispute with Qualcomm.
The ruling, which led to a non-infringement finding on receiver patents, interpreted the UFT Module as an energy storage device, contrary to ParkerVision’s argument that it is a switch for RF down-conversion, as described in the patents and supported by prior Federal Circuit guidance.
The company contends the district court’s interpretation conflicts with patent text and Qualcomm’s prior statements.
A stay on transmitter patent claims was also granted pending the Federal Circuit’s review.
