Over 114,000 Tucson circulating pumps used in Irish heating systems, made between 2017 and 2024, are being recalled due to a serious electrocution risk. The hazard stems from a design flaw allowing the mains cable to be connected in reverse, potentially linking the live wire to the earth pin. Consumers are advised not to touch the pumps and instead check the serial number—starting with S/N—on the label against lists on the CCPC and Tucson websites. Affected units must be replaced free of charge by an approved technician. The alert, prompted by a referral from the Health and Safety Authority, is one of the largest safety warnings issued by the CCPC, with urgent calls for consumers and tradespeople to act immediately.
