India opens its first Ronald McDonald House in Mumbai to support families of children undergoing medical treatment.
India’s first Ronald McDonald House has opened in Mumbai, offering free lodging, meals, and support to families of children receiving medical treatment.
Located near major pediatric hospitals, the 3,200 sq.
ft. facility has 16 rooms and can serve over 500 families yearly.
Inaugurated by Maharashtra’s IT Minister Ashish Shelar, the house aims to alleviate the financial and emotional strain on families who previously slept on hospital floors.
The project, built after a decade of planning starting with a family room in 2016, supports better recovery outcomes by keeping families close to their children.
