Eskom reports first profit in eight years, driven by reduced load shedding and government reforms.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced Eskom’s return to profitability for the first time in eight years, reporting a R23.9 billion pre-tax profit in 2025, up from a R25.5 billion loss the previous year.
He credited the turnaround to coordinated government efforts, improved operations, reduced diesel use, and the National Energy Action Plan launched in 2022.
