Bihar's Patna Metro launches October 7, 2025, with a 4.5-km Red Line and underground tunnel, becoming India’s 24th metro city.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the first phase of the Patna Metro on October 6, 2025, launching a 4.5-kilometer Red Line corridor from Patliputra ISBT to Bhootnath via Zero Mile.
The service, operated by DMRC in partnership with the Bihar government, begins October 7 with three-coach trains carrying up to 900 passengers, running from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The metro, featuring cultural designs and modern amenities, aims to ease traffic and provide zero-emission transit.
A 9.35-km underground tunnel from Patna Junction to Rukunpura will also be launched.
Patna will become India’s 24th metro city.
