Mumbai police file fraud case over Rs 12 lakh fuel card scam involving driver and petrol pump employee.
Mumbai police have filed a fraud case involving approximately Rs 12 lakh against Naresh Singh, driver for Farhan Akhtar’s mother Honey Irani, and Arun Singh, a petrol pump employee, over alleged misuse of fuel cards.
The scheme, uncovered on October 1, 2025, involved fake transactions at a Bandra petrol pump between April 2022 and September 2025, where cards were swiped without actual refueling, and cash was exchanged.
Discrepancies in fuel records—such as a 35-liter tank showing 62 liters—sparked suspicion.
Naresh Singh confessed, admitting he obtained the cards in 2022 from Akhtar’s former driver and used them with Arun Singh’s help, who kept a commission per transaction.
The case, filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to cheating and criminal breach of trust, remains under investigation.
