A London man was convicted for collecting right-wing extremist material found during an airport stop.
A 26-year-old man from Streatham was convicted at the Old Bailey of two counts of collecting terrorist-related material after a routine airport stop at Stansted on August 13, 2024.
Police found extremist right-wing content, including lone-wolf attack guides, on his phone and seized an iPad and documents during a home search.
The man claimed a "pact with the devil" and a "possessed mindset" linked to an extreme-right group, but prosecutors said he intentionally downloaded dangerous material.
He was acquitted on two other charges.
Police emphasized the value of stop-and-search powers and increased London patrols, urging public vigilance.
