A government meeting on Oct 6, 2025, will review progress on the UMEED portal, which tracks Waqf property data across four southern states.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs will hold a regional meeting in Bengaluru on October 6, 2025, bringing together Waqf Boards from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, along with state officials, to review progress on the UMEED Central Portal.
Launched in June 2025 under the UMEED Act, the portal requires Waqf Boards to upload property data within six months using a three-tier verification system to ensure accuracy and transparency.
The meeting will address implementation challenges, share best practices, and improve coordination to enhance the management of Waqf properties.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to modernizing Waqf administration and unlocking the developmental potential of these assets for minority communities, with preparations underway for the portal’s first anniversary in April 2026.
