Ghana launches youth tech training program with UAE partner to train 3,800 annually, aiming to boost employment.
Ghana has launched the Ghana Youth Technical Training Initiative, a four-year public-private partnership with UAE-based CG Technical Services, to train over 3,800 young people annually in vocational fields like electrical installation, plumbing, refrigeration, masonry, fire safety, and hospitality.
The program, which began in Accra on October 2, 2025, offers globally recognized certifications and aims to connect graduates with jobs in Ghana’s growing 24-hour economy and international markets, including the GCC and UK, via the Boafo ATS recruitment platform.
While officials frame it as a key step to reduce youth unemployment, concerns remain over implementation, curriculum relevance, and coordination with existing government training programs.
