Firefly Aerospace buys SciTec for $855M to boost defense and space tech, pending 2025 approval.
Firefly Aerospace agreed to acquire national security tech firm SciTec for $855 million, combining $300 million in cash and $555 million in stock, with closure expected by year-end 2025 pending approval.
The deal strengthens Firefly’s defense and space capabilities, adding SciTec’s software, AI, big data, missile warning, and space domain awareness systems.
SciTec, based in Princeton, N.J., generated $164 million in revenue over the past year and holds a $259 million U.S. Space Force contract.
It will operate as a subsidiary under current leadership.
The acquisition supports Firefly’s expansion into responsive launch, orbit, and national security missions, including the Golden Dome initiative.
