The final film of late Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg, 'Roi Roi Binale,' will be released nationwide on October 31, according to filmmaker Rajesh Bhuyan. The movie, described as the first musical Assamese film, was a personal project of Garg, who contributed to its story and music. Nearly all production was completed, with only background music pending, and Garg’s original voice recordings—captured via lapel mic and preserved at 80-90% clarity—will be featured. The release date honors Garg’s wish to premiere the film on October 31. Garg died in Singapore on September 19 during the Northeast India Festival, following an alleged drowning. Authorities are investigating his death, with his manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta among those arrested, along with other individuals linked to the case. The film stands as a tribute to Garg’s legacy in Assamese music and cinema.
