CRPF distributed 10,800 radios in Chhattisgarh’s tribal areas to boost national unity and counter Maoist influence.
The CRPF has distributed over 10,800 radio sets in seven Naxal-affected districts of Bastar, Chhattisgarh, as part of a four-month government campaign to promote national unity and reduce Maoist influence.
Funded with ₹1.62 crore by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the initiative reached an estimated 54,000 people through 180 CRPF companies, with radios provided at about ₹1,500 each.
The devices support FM, MW, and SW frequencies and are intended to connect remote tribal communities to national broadcasts, including the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address.
The effort is part of broader security and development measures aimed at eliminating Left Wing Extremism by March 2026, alongside plans to expand radio tower infrastructure.
