Christa Pike, convicted of murdering Colleen Slemmer in 1995, will be the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years, with her execution set for September 30, 2026.
Christa Gail Pike, a former Job Corps participant, was convicted in 1995 for the brutal murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer, whom she and two co-defendants lured into the woods, beat, stabbed, and mutilated, with Pike carving a pentagram into the victim’s body.
She later told a classmate she kept a piece of Slemmer’s skull as a souvenir and described the attack while dancing and singing.
The other two defendants received life and probation sentences.
Pike, the only woman on death row in Tennessee, was sentenced to death, and the Tennessee Supreme Court confirmed in 2025 that she will be the first woman executed in the state in over 200 years, with her execution scheduled for September 30, 2026.
