A 32-year-old West Salem woman, Ashley Audrianna Wood, was sentenced to six years in prison for a scheme involving mail theft, fraud, and forgery affecting over 600 people and businesses in the Salem area.
She pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated identity theft, forgery, and mail theft, after authorities found five 10-gallon bags of stolen mail and over 200 pieces at her residence.
The case, handled by the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, also involved separate charges of unauthorized vehicle use and supplying contraband.
She will serve two years of supervised release after prison, and officials are working to return stolen mail to victims.
