Omkara buys Wind World India’s debt for ₹1,225 crore, gaining control in its revival effort.
Omkara Asset Reconstruction Company has acquired ₹3,763 crore in debt from Wind World India, a former Enercon India unit, for ₹1,225 crore via the Swiss Challenge method from NARCL.
The deal grants Omkara an 80% voting stake in the company’s Committee of Creditors, making it the lead decision-maker in the CIRP.
The National Company Law Tribunal approved withdrawal of the prior resolution plan, enabling new bids to revive the wind energy firm, which operates 650 MW of projects and manages 4,500 MW across India.
