Malaysian drug offender Pannir Selvam, 38, to be executed in Singapore on Oct. 8, 2025, after appeal denied.
Malaysian death-row inmate Pannir Selvam Pranthaman, 38, is scheduled for execution in Singapore on October 8, 2025, after the Court of Appeal rejected his post-appeal application.
He was convicted in 2017 for trafficking at least 51.84 grams of diamorphine, triggering Singapore’s mandatory death penalty for such offenses.
His family was informed of the date on October 4, and they will be allowed two visits daily until the execution.
This will be the second execution of a Malaysian in Singapore within two weeks, following the execution of K. Datchinamurthy on September 25.
Pannir’s case has drawn international attention due to concerns over the fairness of the trial, mental health, and the use of capital punishment for drug crimes.
