Israeli minister invites far-right UK activist Tommy Robinson to visit amid backlash over his ties to extremism.
Israeli Minister Amichai Chikli has invited far-right British activist Tommy Robinson to visit Israel in mid-October, calling him a "true friend" of Israel and the Jewish people following a deadly synagogue attack in Manchester.
The attack, which occurred on Yom Kippur, left two dead and six suspects in custody; the suspect, Jihad Al-Shamie, was shot by police after a car and knife assault.
Authorities believe he was influenced by extremist Islamist ideology.
Chikli praised Robinson for opposing radical Islam and combating antisemitism, amid concerns over rising far-right activity and polarizing figures in public discourse.
The visit is scheduled for later this month.
