Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the July 1, 2024, rollout of three new criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—as the most significant legal reform of the 21st century, replacing colonial-era statutes.
