Fulton County DA Fani Willis must testify Nov. 13 before a GOP-led Georgia Senate panel probing her handling of the Trump election case.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has agreed to testify on November 13 before a Republican-led Georgia Senate committee investigating her conduct in the prosecution of former President Donald Trump and others over alleged election interference in 2020.
The probe focuses on her hiring of special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whose past relationship with Willis led to her disqualification due to an “appearance of impropriety,” a decision upheld by the Georgia Supreme Court.
Though Willis initially refused to comply with a subpoena, a judge ruled she must testify, and she has now agreed to appear.
The committee, chaired by Senator Bill Cowsert—who is running for attorney general—aims to examine prosecutorial ethics and standards, though Democrats have criticized the inquiry as politically motivated.
Only committee chair Cowsert and Senate Minority Leader Harold Jones II are authorized to question her.
The hearing comes amid ongoing legal challenges and a separate federal subpoena for Willis’ travel records.
