Five accused forged NHM job offers using fake documents and collected money during the pandemic.
The Economic Offences Wing in Jammu and Kashmir has registered a case over a forged National Health Mission selection list from May 2021, allegedly created by five individuals linked to the NGO J&K Health Care Services. The fake document, circulating on social media, promised permanent NHM jobs and was used to collect money and documents from applicants during the pandemic. Authorities say the suspects forged the signature of the NHM Mission Director, exploiting the NGO’s temporary approval to deploy medical volunteers. The accused—Abdul Qayoom Naik, Abdul Qayoom Khan, Mohammad Ashraf Hurrah, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, and Hilal Ahmad Bahar—are facing charges under multiple IPC and IT Act sections related to cheating, forgery, and identity theft. The investigation is ongoing.
