A 22-year-old angler faces manslaughter charges after a high-speed boat crash on Smith Lake killed three men during a fishing tournament.
Flint Davis, a 22-year-old professional angler, has been indicted on three counts of manslaughter and other charges following a fatal boat crash on Smith Lake, Alabama, on April 16, 2025, during a Major League Fishing tournament.
The collision, occurring at about 67 mph, killed three men—John Clark, Jeffrey Little, and Joey Broom—and injured two others.
Davis faces additional charges including assault, reckless boating, and operating without a safety certification.
His bond is set at $115,000.
A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Davis, Major League Fishing, and related parties, alleging unsafe conditions and lack of safety enforcement.
