Phnom Penh’s Techo International Airport opened on September 9, 2025, marking a major infrastructure milestone for Cambodia.
Built and funded domestically, the airport features Angkorian-inspired architecture and a 15 million passenger annual capacity.
It began operations with Air Cambodia’s first flight, greeted by a traditional water salute.
The project, led by a joint venture between the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation and OCIC, involved over 17,000 workers and 200 Cambodian engineers.
The airport has launched two new international routes, temporarily hosted Cathay Pacific during Typhoon Ragasa, and partnered with global firms for operations, retail, and maintenance.
It includes local and international retail and dining options and coincides with OCIC’s 25th anniversary, underscoring its role in Cambodia’s economic development.
