A new outdoor reading trail at Red Smith School in Green Bay features children’s book pages, promoting literacy and nature engagement.
Red Smith School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has opened a half-mile story trail with 18 signposts displaying pages from children’s books, blending literacy and outdoor exploration.
Funded by a GBAPS Education Foundation grant and supported by local groups including the Green Bay Parks Department and Girl Scout Troop 4536, the trail features the first story, “Wonder Walkers” by Micha Archer, with new seasonal stories planned.
Designed for all ages, it promotes reading, environmental awareness, and kinesthetic learning, offering benches and a natural setting for mindful engagement.
