Kouri Richins seeks bail after key witness recants fentanyl sale claim, citing detox-induced error.
Kouri Richins, accused of fatally overdosing her husband with fentanyl in 2022, has made a third bail request after a key witness, Robert Crozier, denied selling fentanyl to a former housekeeper, claiming instead he sold OxyContin and that prior statements were made while detoxing.
Her attorneys say prosecutors failed to disclose this exculpatory evidence, undermining the state’s case, and are asking the court to compel disclosure.
The Summit County Attorney’s Office has not responded, and Richins remains jailed for 28 months ahead of a February 2026 trial.
