Karnataka seized Hasanabba’s home and slaughterhouse under cattle protection law after his repeat offenses.
Karnataka authorities have seized the home and illegal slaughterhouse of Hasanabba, a repeat offender from Maripalla village, marking the first known confiscation under the state’s 2020 Cattle Preservation Act.
Police cited prior convictions in 2017 and 2018 for cattle theft and unauthorized slaughter, and reported that Hasanabba operated an unlicensed slaughterhouse from his residence.
Acting on a police report, the Assistant Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate invoked Sections 8(4) and 8(5) of the law to take control of the property on September 25.
Hasanabba was arrested and charged under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and cattle protection laws.
The move aims to curb illegal slaughter and enforce animal protection regulations.
