India’s Monrovia embassy celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday on October 2, concluding Seva Pakhwada, a two-week service initiative tied to PM Modi’s 75th birthday.
The event highlighted India’s collaboration with Liberia in fighting drug abuse, including a donation of face masks and gloves from Bunty Pharmaceuticals to Liberia’s Drug Enforcement Authority.
Ambassador Manoj Bihari Verma stressed the global drug threat to youth and India’s support via the ITEC program.
Activities included cleanliness drives, yoga, tree planting, and honoring sanitation workers, reflecting Gandhian values.
The effort aligned with Liberia’s “Nasha Mukt Yuva” campaign and India’s vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
