Indian para-athlete Dharambir, a 2024 Paris Paralympics gold medalist, won silver in the men's club throw F51 at the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships with a best throw of 29.71 meters, his sixth attempt.
Competing at home, he praised the event's organization and its role in supporting India’s future Paralympic bid.
Rain and lightning briefly halted the competition, affecting grip and performance, but Dharambir credited prior training in wet conditions for helping him adapt.
His coach, Amit Saroha, noted the weather impacted most athletes.
Pranav Soorma finished fifth with a season best of 28.19 meters, while Atul Kaushik earned bronze in the men's discus throw F57 with a 45.61-meter throw, giving India two medals on the day.
