India to stage pollution drill off Chennai, coinciding with national spill plan meeting.

The Indian Coast Guard will hold the 10th NATPOLREX-X pollution response exercise on October 5–6, 2025, off Chennai, to test national readiness for marine oil spills and improve inter-agency coordination. The event coincides with the 27th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan meeting. Earlier, a Coast Guard delegation attended the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome, where 115 countries discussed maritime safety, pollution response, and international cooperation.
