India boosts defence self-reliance, targeting ₹50,000 crore in exports by 2029.
India is advancing toward full self-reliance in defence, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announcing a surge in domestic production and exports, including 97 light combat aircraft with over 64% local content.
He highlighted indigenous platforms like the Tejas fighter and Arjun tank, and projected defence exports to reach ₹50,000 crore by 2029.
Singh emphasized that India’s military strength is for national defence, not aggression, and praised the Jain community’s economic contributions.
