A former NSW cop pleads not guilty to murdering TV host Jesse Baird and partner Luke Davies, alleging prosecutorial corruption.
A former NSW police officer, Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, has formally pleaded not guilty to the murders of TV presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies, marking the first time he has denied the charges in open court. Accused of a premeditated attack following months of alleged predatory behavior, he claimed he previously offered to plead guilty to manslaughter but was rejected by prosecutors and police, whom he accused of corruption. Appearing via video-link from prison, he opposed efforts to hold a closed trial, asserting his right to transparency. Police allege he shot the couple at Baird’s Paddington home, wrapped their bodies in surfboard bags, and dumped them nearly 200km away, with blood-stained items from a Sydney skip bin leading investigators to the scene. Lamarre-Condon, who was dismissed from the force after being charged, is set to stand trial on September 21, 2026, after multiple delays. He also faces an aggravated break and enter charge.
