Delhi High Court upholds 2006 corruption charges against former IAS officer Gopal Dikshit.
The Delhi High Court has rejected former IAS officer Gopal Dikshit’s plea to quash a 2006 CBI FIR accusing him of corruption and cheating during his 1997–1999 tenure as Registrar of Cooperative Societies. The court upheld charges under IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act, citing sufficient evidence including witness testimony, official records, and a complaint by Lt. Cdr. Hukum Singh. It ruled that Dikshit’s claims of good faith and reliance on subordinates are trial issues, not grounds to dismiss the case, and found no legal error in the trial court’s decision. The case, involving alleged illegal expulsion of members from a cooperative society, remains pending.
