Wellington Chocolate Factory has launched a Samoa single-origin dark chocolate bar, the first in a six-bar Pasifika collection, featuring 70% cocoa from the Vailele Estate with notes of stewed plum, warm tobacco, orange blossom, and burnt sugar.
The bar, created in collaboration with artist Michel Tuffery and part of WCF’s “second voyage” to the Pacific, marks a shift to sourcing 95% of its cocoa from the region.
Aimed at supporting sustainable farming and local economies, the annual releases through 2027 highlight Pacific cocoa’s cultural and agricultural significance.
The Samoa bar is available online and at WCF’s Wellington factory, with special tastings from October 2 to 5.
