Victoria Levitt won gold in the T44 100m at the World Para Athletics Championships, beating Annie Carey by a narrow margin.

Victoria Levitt, a Tesco employee and disability charity administrator from Mansfield, won a surprise gold medal in the T44 100m at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, finishing in 13.22 seconds to narrowly beat American Annie Carey. Her teammate Bebe Jackson took bronze with a time of 13.63 seconds, ahead of 14-year-old Australian Makayla Elcoate. Levitt, one of several over-30 British athletes competing, called the victory "unbelievable" and credited her success to self-motivation, hoping to inspire others balancing work and elite athletics. She plans to return to her pre-Christmas work schedule, already anticipating a busy season. The British team is supported by sponsor Novuna.
