Parikh, a 101-year-old activist known for his role in India’s independence movement and rural development, died on October 2, 2025, in Mumbai.
He was a key figure in the Quit India Movement, the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement, and the Goa Liberation Movement, and spent time in prison during both the Emergency and Quit India.
Parikh, who turned 100 in 2023, dedicated his life to promoting khadi, village industries, and social justice.
His body was displayed at Janata Kendra in Mumbai before being donated to J J Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter and grandson.
