The Solomon Islands boosted pension returns to 8% and raised death benefits, with reforms planned by 2026.
The Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) credited members with an 8% return for the 2024–2025 fiscal year, adding $274.9 million in interest, driven by strong economic recovery from the 2023 Pacific Games and prudent fund management.
A $10,000 death benefit was also introduced, up $1,500 from 2024.
The government plans to introduce new SINPF legislation by late 2026 to modernize the system, allowing members to grow savings while working and access funds for short-term needs, supported by the Asian Development Bank and Australian Government.
