Russell Laiosa, 56, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to grand larceny for stealing a tow truck in September 2024 during a repossession of his 2020 Chevrolet Silverado.
Video footage shows him shoving the tow truck driver, shouting threats, and driving the vehicle in reverse down 53rd Street with his truck attached, causing damage to parked cars and striking two others before abandoning the tow truck.
He was arrested days later after the incident went viral.
Under a plea deal, he will avoid prison, receiving three years of probation, fines, and mandatory anger management counseling.
His sentencing is set for November 3.
