Punjab Governor honors 800 police personnel, releases delayed salaries, and launches welfare center with scholarships and training.
Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria attended a Bada Khana event in Chandigarh, honoring around 800 police personnel and their families.
He announced the release of the long-delayed 13th salary, resolved after technical issues, and presented performance-based rewards to top police stations.
Scholarships worth Rs 1.85 crore were given to 402 children of police staff, and cash awards went to 21 high-achieving students.
The DGP highlighted new welfare measures, including enhanced financial aid for families of deceased officers, improved funeral support, marriage and education loans, disability assistance, emergency medical services, and resumed deposit returns with interest.
The Governor also inaugurated the Chandigarh Police Family Welfare Centre, offering vocational training in stitching, painting, and baking.
