North Yorkshire libraries collect kids’ Halloween costumes for free swaps to cut waste and save families money.
North Yorkshire libraries in Northallerton, Scarborough, Selby, and Ripon are collecting unwanted children’s Halloween costumes and accessories until October 12.
After sorting, items will be available for free at swap shops from October 20 to 31.
The initiative, led by North Yorkshire Council, aims to reduce waste, support sustainable living, and help families save money.
Officials and residents, including parent Hannah Gilbert, have praised the program for promoting reuse, decluttering, and community engagement.
