Malaysia clinic launches IVA fertility treatment, boosting live birth chances for women with low ovarian reserve.
Thomson Fertility in Malaysia is launching In-Vitro Activation (IVA), a new fertility treatment offering hope to women with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency or diminished ovarian reserves.
The procedure involves activating dormant follicles in removed ovarian tissue and re-implanting it, potentially increasing live birth rates from about 5% to up to 20%.
Developed by Dr. Kazuhiro Kawamura of Japan, IVA allows women to use their own eggs when traditional IVF isn’t viable.
Led by Dr. Prasanna Supramaniam, the clinic emphasizes patient education and access, building on its legacy of over 8,000 IVF babies since 1994.
The treatment is especially significant for Muslim women seeking culturally aligned fertility options.
