Indonesia’s trade surplus rose to $5.49 billion in August 2025, driven by strong non-oil exports.
Indonesia recorded a $5.49 billion trade surplus in August 2025, up from $4.17 billion in July, marking the 64th consecutive month of surplus, according to Statistics Indonesia.
The improvement was driven by a surge in non-oil and gas exports, particularly manufactured goods like refined nickel and vehicle parts, which rose 11.68% year-on-year.
Exports of agricultural products also increased, while mined goods declined.
The oil and gas trade deficit widened slightly.
The overall trade surplus for January to August reached $29.14 billion, up from $18.85 billion last year.
