In Bangladesh, the five-day Sharadiya Durga Puja ended peacefully with large-scale processions and immersion ceremonies in rivers and ponds nationwide, including in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Cox’s Bazar, where thousands gathered despite storm warnings.
Devotees participated in rituals like sindoor khela, chanting mantras, and offering prayers, while security forces maintained order.
The festival, celebrated with elaborate pandals and life-sized clay idols of Durga defeating Mahishasura, was supported by government aid and featured cultural events, communal harmony, and emotional farewells with the chant “Aschhe Bochhor Abar Hobe.”
