ADC leader warns internal fights threaten 2027 election hopes in Kaduna.
A senior African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader in Kaduna State, Mallam Salihu Mohammed Lukman, has warned that internal power struggles among party aspirants threaten the party’s future ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an Abuja statement, he accused some members of seeking control of party structures for personal gain, calling the behavior "madness," and urged prominent opposition figures including Nasir El-Rufai, Jaafaru Sani, Bashir Saidu, and Musa Bello to stop backing specific candidates.
Lukman stressed the need for unity, equal opportunity, and collective leadership to build a strong opposition capable of challenging the ruling APC in Kaduna, warning that division undermines the party’s ability to govern effectively.
The remarks were made during Nigeria’s independence anniversary.
