A 36-year-old UK personal trainer died from an insulin overdose, with the cause undetermined as accidental or intentional.
Poppy Robinson, a 36-year-old personal trainer from Bicester, died on December 11, 2024, from an insulin overdose that caused unconsciousness and positional asphyxiation, an inquest at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court concluded on September 30, 2025.
The coroner could not determine if the overdose was accidental or intentional, though Robinson, who had type one diabetes, had been struggling with low mood, paranoia, and sleep deprivation.
Family and friends said she was deeply loved, had no suicidal thoughts, and was planning to move in with her partner.
She had contacted mental health services the night before her death, reporting stress, and had stopped using her insulin monitor, fearing it was faulty.
Toxicology confirmed insulin toxicity led to severe hypoglycemia.
