Two experienced hang gliders died Tuesday in a crash at Lookout Mountain Flight Park during a tandem launch. The glider struck the mountain shortly after takeoff near West Brow, a known launch area. Emergency crews, including rappelling teams and mountain rescue units from multiple agencies, reached the remote site amid rugged terrain. Both victims suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Air support from Georgia Aviation and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources assisted in the recovery. The victims' identities have not been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
