According to testimony, Buck-Hayes chased Vogler with a bucket of gasoline, poured it on him, and set him ablaze, causing second- and third-degree burns over 60% of Vogler’s body.
Witnesses described Vogler fleeing in flames, and he has since undergone multiple surgeries, developed pneumonia, and remains hospitalized.
Buck-Hayes admitted to the attack, citing a claimed affair between his wife and Vogler, though the relationship’s validity is unverified.
He is held without bail, has requested a mental evaluation, and the case will be reviewed by a grand jury on October 27.
