Prince Harry and five others sue Daily Mail publisher over alleged spying, privacy breaches in London court.
A two-day hearing begins in London’s High Court in a case brought by Prince Harry and six others against the Daily Mail’s publisher, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), alleging unlawful surveillance, hacking, and privacy violations.
The claimants, including Sir Elton John and Baroness Doreen Lawrence, say ANL hired investigators and intercepted communications, which ANL denies, calling the claims “lurid” and “preposterous.” The hearing, before Mr Justice Nicklin, will address procedural issues ahead of a potential 2026 trial.
The court has previously rejected ANL’s time-bar argument and allowed disclosure of Leveson Inquiry documents on payments to investigators.
The judge also ordered the claimants’ lawyers to disclose documents about payments made to obtain evidence, criticizing inconsistent disclosure practices.
Harry has previously won damages from other media outlets.
