The Palestine Forum of New Zealand is urging Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Foreign Minister Winston Peters to demand Israel allow safe passage for an international civilian flotilla bound for Gaza, calling it a peaceful humanitarian mission.
The group, supported by Gaza-based NGOs and global civil society, says the flotilla carries aid and seeks to end what it describes as Israel’s blockade, occupation, and alleged genocide.
It condemns Israel’s history of intercepting aid vessels and stresses New Zealand’s moral obligation to uphold international law.
Meanwhile, Australia expressed concern over the safety of its citizens aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, reaffirmed support for humanitarian access, and called on Israel to comply with international law.
