Modi backs Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Israel-Gaza, calling it a path to lasting peace.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Donald Trump’s newly announced 20-point peace plan to end the Israel-Gaza conflict, calling it a viable path to long-term peace for both Israelis and Palestinians and regional stability.
The plan, unveiled after talks with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, calls for an immediate halt to hostilities, Israeli military withdrawal to agreed lines, release of all hostages within 72 hours, and the release of hundreds of Palestinian detainees.
It includes amnesty for Hamas members who renounce violence and disarm, safe passage for those leaving Gaza, and immediate humanitarian aid through UN and international agencies.
The Rafah crossing would reopen under established mechanisms.
Several nations, including Canada, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, also voiced support, while Hamas said it would review the proposal.
